PosCleaner is a macOS app that runs entirely on your Mac. It does not collect, transmit, share, or sell any of your personal data or photos. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no ad networks, no crash reporting services.
PosCleaner reads two kinds of data on your device, with your explicit permission, to perform its function:
PosCleaner additionally reads:
Nothing. PosCleaner makes zero network calls from inside the app. The MobileCLIP-S1 vision model — Apple's open-source image encoder, bundled with the app — runs on your Mac's Neural Engine. Photos, embeddings, and scan results never leave your device.
The only network traffic associated with this product is App Store delivery and Apple's automatic crash-report aggregation, both of which Apple operates and are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
All PosCleaner data lives in your Mac's sandboxed app container:
~/Library/Containers/dev.aposnov.poscleaner/Data/Library/Application Support/PosCleaner/ — debug log, image-match cache, last-scan results. You can wipe all PosCleaner data via Settings → Reset → Clear all app data. Uninstalling the app via Finder also removes everything except the debug log.
PosCleaner bundles Apple's MobileCLIP-S1 CoreML model, released by Apple under the Apple Sample Code License. The model is loaded into Apple's Neural Engine and runs locally; it does not contact any external servers.
PosCleaner does not knowingly collect any data from children. The app has no online services, so there is no data to collect from any user.
Material changes will be announced in the app's release notes on the App Store. The current policy is always available at https://poscleaner.aposnov.dev/privacy.html.
